Our MOT Process

At Mario’s Garage, we make your MOT test simple, transparent, and hassle-free.

Step 1: Book Your MOT

Use our online booking system or give us a call to schedule your MOT at a time that suits you. We offer Class 4 MOTs for cars and small vans.

Step 2: Vehicle Drop-Off

Drop your vehicle off at our garage on the day of your appointment. We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes early.

Step 3: MOT Inspection

One of our DVSA-approved testers will carry out a full MOT inspection, checking:

• Lights, horn & wipers

• Brakes & suspension

• Tyres & wheels

• Seatbelts & seats

• Exhaust & emissions

• Steering & mirrors

• Vehicle body & registration plates

The test takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Step 4: Results & Advice

We’ll explain your results clearly:

• Pass: You’ll receive a new MOT certificate (valid for 12 months).

• Fail: We’ll provide a full report and a no-obligation quote for any repairs.

Step 5: Repairs (if needed)

If your vehicle fails, we can usually carry out repairs on the same day (subject to parts availability). We’ll retest your vehicle for free if it’s repaired within 10 working days.

Step 6: Drive Away Safely

Once your car has passed, you’re good to go! We’ll also send you a reminder when your next MOT is due.
